Build on your drafting and adaption skills and develop your own project.

On this course take the next steps in developing your block drafting to pattern adaption
Do you work with Pattern books and get stuck? Or want to draft a more complicated block like a jacket?
Maybe you want to develop a more complex bodice or corset shape?
On this course you can choose what you want to develop and learn.
We will work from references. If you like a specific collar on a jacket, bring that and we can develop a jacket with that collar.

Day 1:
Skills covered:
-Take measurements
-Draft block
-Draft a pattern from the block
-Adding necessary information to your pattern that will aid your making. such as the Straight grain, Balance points,
-Pattern manipulation
-Ease
-Creating desired design lines, such as neck lines, hem design and length
-Adding Seam allowances to your pattern.
Day 2:
-Depending on your project, we will either continue drafting. Develop another shape or make a calico sample of your shape and if we have time go back and alter your pattern where necessary

-This course is for beginners and intermediate makers.
-Classes starts at 10:00 and finish at 16:00 with a 1 hour lunch at 13:00.

The school and studio have recently moved.
We are now located in Ardwick, tucked away behind Ardwick green. A ten minute walk from Manchester Piccadilly station and accessible by bus routes from Manchester and Stockport on the 192 bus service. Parking is available at the rear of the building or local street parking.
